Cinque Terre

Where to stay for foodies?

overcast 26 °C

We have three nights in the Cinque Terre in July. We don't know whether to stay in Levanto or one of the five villages as a base for our explorations. We want to eat very well at night in whatever town we choose, so who knows which village has the best food?

Hey SueL44. I stayed in Levanto for 1 night and in Manarola for 2 nights. Levanto is not far at all from the other 5 towns and the township is about a 10 minute walk from the station. The other 5 townships are right on the train line and have stunnng views as they are along the cliffs (depending on where you stay). Accomodation can be tough to find - book early! If you want a bit of luxury at a price the La Toretta in Manarola is gorgeous! Its a bit of a hike up the hill but thats the cinque terre. Food is good in all towns but from memory better food and wider choice was found in Vernazza and Montorosso. Montorosso also has the best beach. All 6 towns are easily connected by rail, just don't forget to validate your ticket! And the walking trail is a must do. Its an amazing place!
